Sophie is honoring her mother by relaunching her inn as the Bella Donna Hotel. As she learns more about her mothers past and struggles with all the preparations as well as a separation from her love, Sky. As with Mamma Mia! ABBA's music infuses the whole film with a marvelous emotional charge.
Michele Clapton designed the costumes channeling spectacular 70s looks as well as working with materials that allowed dance movements.

ABOUT MICHELE CLAPTON
Michele Clapton has been working as a Costume Designer in film and television for over 25 years. She has worked on projects such as Sense and Sensibility, for which she was nominated for Best Costume Design for a Television Mini Series at the Costume Designers Guild Awards 2009 and The Devil's Whore with director Marc Munden, winning the BAFTA Award for Best Costume Design, also 2009. Michele also won an RTS Award for her work on Casanova in 2005.
Michele has designed 7.2 seasons of the hugely successful HBO series Game of Thrones and for this she has been nominated for three and has won five Emmy Awards for Outstanding Costumes for a Series for this show. Michele also won a further Emmy in 2017 for her costume design for The Crown.
She has also been nominated for the Costume Designers Guild Award for Outstanding Period/Fantasy Television Series in 2012, 2013, 2014, and won the award in 2015, 2016, All for Game of Thrones. In 2017 she won two more costume Guilds in both the period and fantasy Categories for Game of Thrones and The Crown and in 2018 collected another Costume Guild for Game Of Thrones.
Michele has also collected the Bafta Award for Costume design for The Crown in 2017 and again for Game of Thrones in 2018.
Her film work includes Before I go to Sleep with Director Rowan Joffe, Queen of the Desert with Director Werner Herzog, she designed Mamma Mia Here We Go Again directed by Ol Parker and more recently designed The Secret Garden directed by Marc Munden for which she was nominated for a BIFA Costume Film award. Recent work includes The King's Man directed by Matthew Vaughn, two series of The Nevers for HBO and The Peripheral for Amazon. She is currently working on Apartment 7A with Natalie Erika James.
Michele was also awarded designer of the year by NYWIFT.
Michele also has a passion for designing for contemporary dance and regularly designs for the dance company Ballet Lorent, she also loves to hand sew and paint rather badly with water colours!
ABOUT KEITH LODWICK
Keith Lodwick is a curator, writer, and historian. He is the former Curator of Theatre and Screen Arts at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. At the V&A, Keith curated Vivien Leigh: Public Faces, Private Lives and was the V&A assistant curator for the major exhibition Hollywood Costume, one of the most successful exhibitions in the museum's history. Keith has contributed to a wide range of publications including Oliver Messel: In the Theatre of Design, Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty and Shoe Reels: The History and Philosophy of Footwear in Film.
