After Jackie and Spencer, Pablo Larraín chronicles again a specific period on the life of an iconic female figure of the 20th century, that of Maria Callas. Visually astonishing and emotionally mesmerising, Larraín explores the final days of the diva before her death in 1977, reflecting on her past, her triumphs, her losses and, of course, her love for Aristotle Onassis.
Massimo Cantini Parrini, whose credits include, among several others, the costumes for films such as Joe Wright’s Cyrano, Michael Mann’s Ferrari, and, lately, Gianluca Jodice’s The Flood, created, not only the 60 costumes for Angelina Jolie’s Maria, some of which, made by him, some others, vintage pieces adapted to Jolie. A meticulous perfectionist, he also designed the vast jewelry collection.
