Amanda and her stepfather, Martin, find themselves on opposite sides of a painful ethical dilemma. As Leslie, Amanda’s mother and Martin’s wife, slips deeper into advanced dementia, they are confronted with an impossible question: when someone can no longer make decisions for themselves, who has the right—and the responsibility—to decide what is best? A spouse? An adult child? The medical system?
As tensions rise and each choice carries greater consequences, their conflict sets off a chain of events that neither of them can control.
Costume designer Saffron Cullane will talk about her work creating the costumes for the film before the screening.
