A special preview of the film, with Cate Blanchett and Rooney Mara, preceded by an on-stage conversation between Academy Award Winning Costume Designer Sandy Powell and film writer and journalist Angie Errigo.

ICONS OF STYLE was a curated film series hosted by Michael Kors – in partnership with Vanity Fair and Fashion and Cinema – exploring the role of fashion in American film over three decades. The opening night featured an on-stage conversation with Michael Kors, Kate Hudson, Ali Macgraw and Rene Russo, moderated by Vanity Fair's Elizabeth Saltzman.

An exploration of the image of Vivien Leigh, an icon and inspiration who fashion and costume designers have been drawing from, for decades. Events included a talk by the Victoria and Albert Museum's Theatre & Performance Curator Keith Lodwick, discussing the important relationship between the actress, designer and character, and the screening of Elia Kazan's A Streetcar Named Desire.

Italy is known for its centuries-long culture of la bellezza and a style which has come to be identified by its people's creativity, and highest-quality craftmanship. Italian Fashion & Cinema looked at some key highlights from 1960, from the country's intricate and rich heritage of style.

One of the world's most emulated film icons, Audrey Hepburn's style was the result of a timeless balance between simplicity, comfort and elegance, while maintaining a European sophistication which combined to define her star persona. This event examined the career of the actress and the role of fashion, in particular her relationship with designer Givenchy, in her films and in the construction of her still-influential image.

An exploration of the lasting partnership between French screen icon Catherine Deneuve, and fashion designer Yves Saint Laurent. This muse-artist collaboration on- and off-screen lasted for over thirty years until Saint Laurent's death, and included films such as Belle de Jour (Luis Buñuel, 1967), La Sirène du Mississipi (François Truffaut, 1969) and The Hunger (Tony Scott, 1983). This event examined the careers of both actress and designer, and the work that they created together on screen.

The first of the Fashion & Cinema events was dedicated to Chanel and her relationship with film as well as with the stage, and included screenings and seminars by fashion journalist and writer Justine Picardie (now editor of Harpers Bazaar UK) and Prof. Ginette Vincendeau.
